Vineyard

The vines are grown on the Tuniberg, a moderately high ridge south of the Kaiserstuhl in Baden.

Yield: 50 hl/ha

Soil Type

The Tuniberg area is a limestone area covered with loess.

Harvest Notes

Co-planting of all varieties, harvested in one batch.

Vinification

The grapes are whole bunch pressed with high pressure in a pressing cycle of 15 hours. The press juice, no settling needed, is transferred to concrete eggs and fermented without any additions. Small additions of whole berries are made to the fermentation. The wine is racked after 12-15 months and bottled unfiltered with a subtle haze.
