Description

The fully ripe grapes for this Riesling come exclusively from our steep slopes with a gradient of over 70 %. Optimal solar radiation on the steep south-facing slopes along the "Unesco World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley", the near-natural cultivation of the vines and the selective harvesting of grapes make this Riesling unique.

The typical Riesling flavours of apple, grapefruit and quince are found in this wine.

Enjoy it on its own or in combination with your favorite meal, the VOLLSTEIL Riesling matches with almost everything you love.

Vineyard

The vineyards are our steepest slopes and are our best ones face south and south west. The climate is quite mild throughout the year because of the river nearby as well as the protection from the steep slopes. The soil is a great heat accumulator for the grapes.

Yield: 30 hl/ha

Soil Type

The soil is weathered slate.

Harvest Notes

We only harvest by hand and the grapes are carefully hand selected for this wine.

Vinification

The VOLLSTEIL Riesling is vinified with spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks.

Maturation

We recommend to store the wine in the bottles for 8-10 years.

Oak influence: The wine is not vinified in oak barrels, so there is therefore no oak influence.
Months in bottle: 12

Bottling

Closure: Screw top
