Description
Our Klingelberger 1782 is partly fermented spontaneously which gives it its complexity. The nose reveals aromas of minerality, herbs and a hint of white flowers. Very full-bodied and intense with a long finish.
Klingelberger is a synonym for Riesling in Durbach (Ortenau). In 1782 the Duke of Baden planted on the vineyard "KLINGELBERG" Riesling. It was the first mono-varietal vineyard in the winegrowing region of Baden - in the 18th century it was common to plant mixed varieties on the vineyard. So this was new and outstanding and hence Riesling was given the synonym Klingelberger.
