Vineyard: Schloss Johannisberg
Single vineyard Schloss Johannisberg is located right on the 50th parallel north, with the size of fifty hectares, facing exactly south. A quartzite hill in front of the Taunus mountains. With an inclination of 45 degrees, the mountain extends up to 182 metres above sea level and offers the grapes perfect sunshine.

Soil Type
Taunus quartzite with a layer of iron dioxide containing red loam.
Vinification
1200 ltr oak barrels made from native oaks which grow in our own castle forest.
Maturation
6 months on the lees.
Oak influence: The natural texture of the oak, its structure and components influence gently the character of our Riesling.
