St Andrews Clare Valley Riesling 2022
Description
Very pale straw colour with a slight green tinge to the edge. Displays zesty lemon and lime aromas along with faint orange blossom aromas. Quite restrained at release with a linear focus on the palate and purity of fruit flavours. Plenty of fresh lemon/lime juice characters abound with crisp and refreshing lime acidity down the mid-palate. All this is complemented by a persistent and refreshing finish. Crafted for immediate enjoyment but will cellar over the long term under ideal conditions.

Harvest Notes
In the lead up to vintage 2022 we experienced relatively mild and unusually wet conditions throughout January which delayed veraison by around 2 weeks later than average. Into February, mild conditions prevailed for most of the month and then it warmed up over the last few days. The mild weather conditions continued into March with comfortably warm days and mild, cool nights along with minimal rainfall which resulted in near perfect ripening conditions with little to no disease pressure. Overall, our winemakers are reporting excellent quality from the vintage.
Vinification
Whole berry pressed free run portion only. Stainless steel fermentation with neutral yeast strain typically 14 days, straight into cold stabilisation.
Maturation
Stainless steel tank, sterile filtration to bottle in June 2022.
