Vineyard

It does not get any more mineral than this: from the vineyard sites Kaseler Kehrnagel and Kaseler Hitzlay as well as, depending on the vintage, with some support from the Kaseler Nies'chen, we produce the most elegant Riesling wines with slate character from the Ruwer in Kasel.

Yield: 60 hl/ha hl/ha

Soil Type

The soils in both areas are mostly medium-textured and covered with stony shale. The areas are sheltered from the wind and both face west and south west. This allows ample sunshine and warmth.

Vinification

Selective harvest, gentle grape processing and fermentation in stainless steel forms the basis for all our village wines. The wines remain on the fine lees until the spring of the year following the harvest and are bottled after approval by our cellar master.

Maturation

Aging potential up to 2030.

Oak influence: Fermented in stainless steel tanks.
