Vineyard: Ehrenhausen
Wines with the Ehrenhausen Ortswein (“villages” wine) designation of origin grow in medium-to-heavy calcareous soils. Some of the soils in the south-western section are also “Opok” soils (a mixture of clay, marl and silt). The wines themselves are characterised by a ripe acidity and a salty, delicately spiced finish. The flagship varieties of the Ehrenhausen designation of origin are Sauvignon Blanc and Morillon.
