Vineyard
This wine was grown in the beautiful gorge of the Rhine River, close to the Loreley rock. This valley, with its castles, its medieval towns with half-timbered houses, and its steep-slope vineyards, has come to represent the essential Romantic landscape. Winemaking has always been part of our culture since 2.000 years.
Soil Type
Slate, Rhine and Riesling – this triad characterizes the interplay of fruit and minerality in our wines. Protected geographically by the narrow section of the Rhine Valley, our vines thrive on the slate from the Devonian period. Without naming one particular vineyard, DEVON S is our wine with the most mineral and fruity interplay. Devonian slate with a steepness of 60%
Vinification
Fermented with a temperature of around 12-16° C in stainless steel, contact with the yeast until bottling in April 2022.
