Weingut Stefan Vetter

We founded our winery in 2010 in the northern part of Bavaria with the goal of showing off the more thrilling side of Sylvaner. Most of our vineyards are in the appellation of the Gambacher Kalbenstein, a terraced vineyard site on the banks of the Main river. It is not large in size, just 7.5ha in total, but it is rich in soil complexity with pure limestone and red sandstone. For us Sylvaner is a great variety to show the characters of the different soils. To help this we ferment spontaneously, age in barrels and add just a little bit of sulphur before bottling, nothing else.
